Qwest

Direct Retail Kiosks

Qwest Communications, a leading provider of high speed internet and communicatin services, wanted to inform and engage customers about its High Speed Internet (HSI) services in a variety of ways, while providing a means to directly experience Qwest’s speed and service offerings.

To do this, Qwest has deployed over 275 screens located in over 80 malls, 17 Qwest inline stores, and other out-of-home venues. Each station includes two Qwest HSI (High Speed Internet) touch screens. These 24” touch screen stations show the benefits of the DSL or Fiber Internet service. One touch screen focuses on the entertainment aspects of high speed internet such as real time video streaming, gaming or music downloads which the other station focuses on the productivity uses such as file transferring and video chat. Both stations allow users to browse the Internet though the centers own high-speed connection with in a Qwest branded web browser.

The stations were designed to both engage customers and encourage interaction with the touchscreen. In the competitive Internet service market, many of the promotions a customer sees are focused around the speed of the service. Qwest, working with their agency of record, Draftfcb, uses the Qwest HSI kiosks to communicate the real world value and benefits that Qwest high-speed service delivers to customers.
