Interactive Digital Signage Via Text Messaging


Live Nation (NYSE: LYV), the world's largest live music company utilizes Nanonation digital signage software in over 130 venues and concert sites around the US. The biggest names from all genres of music play to crowds of thousands at Live Nation events. At these venues advertising, promotions and information messaging is key. Each venue's network of interactive digital signs is powered by Nanonation's Nanopoint Digital Signage software and managed both centrally by Live Nation, as well as custom controls that allow local personnel to update signs with local content and triggered real time events, including audience control and participation in the content via cellular phone text messaging. The solution is built on Apple-based media players and software.

The primary challenge was to provide a flexible solution that enabled customization with Live Nation's existing content management system. This enables direct control by local personnel during a concert to trigger and change media as needed based on what is happening at the live event. In addition, people attending the events can interact with a variety of the content via text messaging.

The solution is driven using Apple computers tied to a variety of screen outputs. Live Nation uses Nanonation's Digital Signage tool to plan media schedules and publish to each sign as needed.
